I am very interested in following this project as many of my direct lineal ancestors and distant family (i.e. cousins) were influential to the founding of these United States, from the Popham and Jamestown Colonies, to the pioneering Sherrill family down into North Carolina, to fighting in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, and out into the frontiers. I am a cousin of the Wright Brothers, aviation pioneers, and cousin of several US Presidents: John Adams, Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt.

Although I do have badges for other specialized areas of U.S. history, American history in general has always fascinated me since I was a child. This interest has helped me in cataloging and posting to WikiTree over 30 ancestral families who came to America between 1620-1650. I am presently posting to WikiTree the contents of some published 19th century family genealogies which are full of American history.
