I have corresponded with several of the names I have seen on here. I've retired from teaching and have jumped back into my genealogy full throttle. I am currently sourcing for the Texas Project as well as adding cemetery categories. I am currently interested in Newton and Nacogdoches counties in Texas.
The Connect a Thon Sticker has different parameters than the Source A Thon Sticker.
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Automated:Template_Sticker#Thons shows the different parameters used for each Thon. If you look at your suggestions, it has one for the Source a Thon Sticker, You may have just copied the Connect A Thon and changed it to Source a Thon, but the parameters are different. Possibly the page had not changed when you copied it.

Eleanor (Holmes) Colson reached the Golden Achievement milestone by sourcing at least one profile in every month of the 2022 Sourcerers Project Sourcerers' Challenge.
We appreciate your consistent work in improving WikiTree through the Sourcerers Project in 2022!
Thank you for posting the picture you have Ben and Lou Jane West, they are great-grandparents through Ida West my grandmother and I only have one pic. Thanks so much!
It is time for the semi-annual check in for June, 2022 with members of the US Southern Colonies Project. Have you been active during the last six months? Note that it is a requirement to respond to the US Southern Colonies Check-ins. Please respond to this message by clicking the reply button below this message, to post your answer. I look forward to hearing from you..
Many thanks,

Mary, I am not focusing on the southern colonies right now but in Texas. I do add sources to people who were born in the southern colonies when I run across them, but most of them were born during the time of the United States.
Thank you for replying to the US Southern Colonies check in, Eleanor. Actually I am from Texas, but have Southern Colonies ancestors. I understand , and I have marked you as active when you find Southern Colonies profiles.
It's time for our annual Scotland Project check-in!
This year we are hoping to learn what our membership would like to accomplish over the next 12 months.
In case you aren't aware, this year is WikiTree's ""Year of Connections"" and the Project's leadership would like to contribute to this in as many ways as possible.
We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and ideas with us on how we can accomplish this goal. We would also appreciate it if you would provide some feedback on our existing goals, including:
If you have not yet signed up to help on one of the project's teams, which team(s) would you be interested in joining?
How often should we provide a Project Newsletter?
Have you participated in the Tartan Trail? If not, is this something you'd be interested in doing?
Do you have a question(s) that we could add to a Frequently Asked Questions page?
Any suggestions or ideas you have on ways to improve the Scotland Project in general
We continue to communicate with our Project members via Google Group (official) and Discord (unofficial), as well as G2G. You may also reach out to any of the Project leaders via WikiTree's internal messaging system at any time.
Thank you for all you do to help the Scotland Project become a knowledge hub for Scottish genealogical research! We wish you all the best in 2022!
Sincerely,
Amy Gilpin
on behalf of the Scotland Project Leaders
Hi Amy! Yes I have done the Tartan Trail through the second level. This really helped me with my sourcing techniques. I spent quite a long time adding profiles for Carnahan and variants as I think I found my Kernohan ancestor finally but his name was spelled Carnahan in Scotland. I still haven't hooked up his father though.
I used to follow on the discord app but it quit working for some reason. I guess I need to figure it out. I keep forgetting to look on discord on my computer or on Goggle group. I don't seem to get that many emails from google group.
I'm not sure I am part of a team. I thought I was going to do Twisted Thistles but then never heard anything. I guess communication is the main problem that I'm seeing.
I am currently part of Sourcerers and am sourcing most every day for the Texas project. I would be happy to help source for the Scotland project.
Let's see what we can do to fix the communication issue with Google Group from our end. Hopefully, you can sort out the Discord issue as well. It's great if you are looking for quick answers or a general chat. Twisted Thistles is our Challenge team, so certainly, please do join in on any or all of the WikiTree challenges to be part of that team :)
We appreciate the help with sourcing Scottish profiles. There's always someone that needs sources added.
It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:
If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.
Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!
Yes I am happy with the County Antrim team although I am finding info hard to find. I was working just on my lines, became frustrated and then went on to other things. I see that I need to work on some of the profiles that need help which I will try to do soon. I don't think I've seen anything from the Google group or on Discord although I think I am signed up for both. If I'm not part of them, I would definitely like to join up.
This is the semi-annual polling for the US Southern Colonies Project check-in with members to see if you have been active in the last six months in this project?
Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the US Southern Colonies Project that you respond to these check-ins.
I look forward to hearing from you.. Many thanks,
Mary, Membership Coordinator, US Southern Colonies Project
The Andrew Crawford line has been really messed up by the "family story" with a William Crawford being the immigrant. I have searched for years and cannot prove that story and I definitely cannot prove that his name was William Andrew Crawford. I can prove that the brothers in Pike County Georgia were from the Andrew Crawford-Mary B. Foster line although Andrew possibly had a first marriage. But then if so, then why is Robert's middle name Foster?
So you descend from Andrew Crawford who went to Panola County? I have always had trouble with him but everyone has the story of the brothers found in Pike, GA. There is definitely a son Andrew from Andrew d. 1818 and the 1800 census shows 2 sons under 5 which is correct.
Another problem I have with the letter is it says that they lived in Milledgeville which is Baldwin County and not that close to Pike. Has anyone looked at Crawford families in Baldwin County?
Hi Eleanor, I have added Griffiths Valuation Roll 1864 for Cullybackey to Thomas Barr-5005. Mary Ann Elder ( Elder-3955 ) was a tenant in his Cullybackey house. Thomas was party to a twenty pound sterling Conditional bond with Mary Ann Elder in 1859 for her son William John Elder Apprenticeship deed .I have been trying to establish why he would be a party to the Conditional bond as William John Elder appears to have different DNA to his sister Mary Ann Elder 1840
Thank you for letting me know Terry. I don't know a whole lot about the Barr siblings when they were in Northern Ireland. I descend from his sister, Martha Barr Kernohan. I do have that he was married to a Nancy Getty in 1850 and they had 7 children. I don't have any info about the bond you mention. Your post reminds me that I need to come back and post the wives and children of the Barrs. Thank you.
Eleanor, the conditional bond and a map of the Cullybackey, Ballyclosh, Ballymena at the time has been added to Thomas Barr profile.
You probably noted that James Barr(father?) was the only family member in the house at that time of the Griffiths Valuation roll.
Thomas Barr was a farmer, he appeared in Petty court sessions for allowing stock to "wander on the road". He was probably using the roadside verge for feeding his stock :-) .
That is not his father as he died I believe in 1834. It may be his half brother. There was a James Barr born from the first marriage of his father. Where do you find things like the petty court sessions?
Search on "Ireland,Petty Session Court Registers 1818 - 1919". Court & Governmental records. Ancestry.com has powerful search facility but the Griffiths Valuation was a find in Google.
Hi Terry. Just to let you know, I just added the children of Thomas and Nancy Getty Barr. I do have in my files a William Barr. The only info I have is that he was born in Cullybackey and that he died in young manhood. Maybe your William John Elder?
Hi Eleanor, Well the marriage to Nancy Getty changes the ;picture of Thomas Barr.
My William John Elder ancestor died Kirkinriola, Ballymena Co. Antrim about 1900 and was married to Ann Jane Perry. William Elder son of William John Elder (my ancestor) died 1906 in the Glasgow Poorhouse after being estranged from his wife Isabella McNeill daughter and my paternal G-mother Agnes Elder
A person in Scotland whom I correspond with is also related to William John Elder and has Barr family in her Family tree.
My line somehow connects to all this.. if Nancy Getty is my Nancy “Kerr” married “John Kerr” aka Nancy Ann McMahon who is my 4th great grandmother through my maternal line, it would explain why I have hits so many dead ends researching my grandmothers side, and all the secrets surrounding my grandmother’s past, and family.. I am on ancestry as well, it’s a public profile, “Cortney (Brown) Johnson “Jarrell Texas.” If you find I’m that missing link I would love to know anything anyone is comfortable telling me. Thank you.
I am researching Davis in Granville Co, NC. Thomas Davis m 1809 Elizabeth Jenkins, she was supposed to be born in VA. Most descendants moved to Texas-Henry Ward Davis was a son. There is a YDNA connection to a William Benjamin Davis, b 1838, who died in Palestine Anderson Co, TX in 1926 -No death certificate. Do you have ca 1800 Davis information that may tie into Thomas? He married in Warren Co, NC and bought property in Granville Co in 1832. Two daughters married men named Jenkins who were not 'related' one was from Maryland.
I doubt it but I will have to look later. We were without power for 48 hours and now water for 3 days. I haven’t done anything on here since Sunday. Just didn’t want you to think I was ignoring you.
Thanks for showing Scotland as one of your interests. If you haven’t yet done so, please join the Scotland project via the G-2-G topic. I hope you get a great deal of pleasure collaborating with colleagues in this great project. If you have any questions or wish any advice either send me a private message or email me.
Hello Eleanor: Did you figure out Elizabeth Finley who married to Thomas Tinsley Cargill (Jr)(II )? I am descendant of them and have filed a supplement DAR application for Paul Finley who was Elizabeth's father and Revolutionary Patriot? Her mother was Mary Martin. If you would like to communicate, my email is [email address removed] p>barbara cargill easley
I was writing the biography for Thomas Cargill, Sr. and noticed that he was attached to three wives: Elizabeth Finley, Elizabeth Finley, and Elizabeth Unknown, the third one is what I have always had in my files. I had their son Thomas, Jr. married to Elizabeth Finley but had no dates for her. All of my info had come from the Cargill book by Patti Myers and I did additional research like deeds and wills, etc. If Elizabeth Finley was married to Thomas, Sr. then we need to fix that. But I think there is one married to the Jr. on there also. I just know Thomas Sr. didn't marry 2 Elizabeth Finleys and one Elizabeth Unknown.
Thomas Tinsley Cargill Sr. was married only once to Elizabeth LNU. Wouldn't it be wonderful to find out what her maiden name was? Certainly would solve a lot of misinformation that is out there on the Internet. Some saying it Rodgers but that is unproven.
Their son Thomas Tinsley Cargill Jr. (or II whichever is preferred) married Elizabeth Finley.
Which child of Thomas and elizabeth LNU do you descend?
I had the privilege of being able to spend some time with Patti Myers while she was writing the book. She was quite a gal. And, the legacy/documents she left us with is amazing. It has been immerse help to me researching the Cargill Line looking for one of (my direct) ancestors to be a Patriot. Cargill's were so loyal to the crown. I know there is a nephew or grandson (need my notes in front of me.) to John and Rachel who was a patriot. I do think I have found where John Cargill qualifies. Just need an geni-expert to help me with the information. Stay safe....wear your mask....barbara cargill easley
Eleanor, my ancestry seems to go thru Virginia at least as far back as 1750. Most recent ancestors migrated to northern Kentucky in the early 1800s. I have seen deeds/abstracts that reflect the Senior (Senour) surname identifying the surname in the 1600s on numerous occasions. Still have a lot of research to do.
As Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential. Please ensure there is a location and that the location data matches dates of profiles, avoid abbreviations, add citations & links for sources to support the data, please review these pages Reliable Pre-1700 Sources and Help Sourcesfor Pre-1700 as well as United States reliable sources.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Thank you for adding your DNA Test information to your profile on WikiTree. Your information will be propagated to the profiles of your parents and your ancestors within about 24 hours of being added. It will also propagate to the profiles of the descendants of your ancestors, so they may see your information under the heading "DNA Connections" just as you can see theirs.
Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.
The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.
To get the best results, begin adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to ancestors already in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.

Happy tree climbing
