St. Peters Parish Church, New Kent, Va.

At the back of the church is a large stone with the following inscription: this stone witnesseth to the lives of good upright people identified with St. Peter's parish for more than 125 years from its foundation in 1684. Colonel George Lydal, died January 1705. Captain Edmund Bacon and his wife Ann Lydal. John Bacon and his wife Susannah Parke. Samuel Bugg and Sarah Bacon his wife. Sherwood Bugg, July 8, 1720

I added an abstract of the info on Nathaniel's will (from page 149 of the cited source).

What is in the will of Nathaniel Bugg to prove that the Samuel son of Samuel Bugg was the immigrant to Virginia who married Deborah Sherwood? Page 149 of the cited source is not viable through the link provided.

son John - St Peter's Parish Register (has Deborah & Samuel's deaths recorded also, page 55)

Children of Samuel (and Sarah) appear to begin in 1717 (page 76 has 1717 & 1720 births of Samuel & Sherwood, respectively).

My Bugg ancestors came from Suffolk, and I've looked to see if this Samuel might be related to others in my tree. I haven't found a link (yet), but wondered if the place of origin should actually be Brandeston? I'm unable to find any reference to a "Branderton".

Bugg-49 and Bugg-15 are not ready to be merged because: dates differ on birth. I cannot merge because of PPP, so a manager needs to look at it. It is at the top of a 3 generation line of duplicate parents!
For the merge, please use abt. 1640 as the correct DoB for Samuel. It was his wife Deborah who was born abt. 1669.
