Biography

This profile is part of the Prentice Name Study.
Have been researching family history for 30+ years. Started PrenticeNet.com in 1996, as a collection point for all things Prentice/Prentiss/Prentis .. specifically as it relates to genealogy, but also Prentice businesses, places, and other things. The Prentice Museum has lots of interesting Prentice-related items. Lived in the Boston area for a number of years where I was able to research many locations where my Prentice ancestors lived.

Immigrant Ancestors

I started building this list thinking it would be "interesting and easy," but it seems to go on and on. Definitely interesting, but way more people than I expected. Since most of my immigrant ancestors are 8th ,or greater, great grandparents, there are a lot of people to draw from! So far this list has 152 individuals, with just a few duplicates (noted).

Dates in bold indicate year of arrival in America.

NOTE: These ancestor connections rely largely on WikiTree linkages. Most have not been fully validated by me (Scott Prentice).

Hi Ronald...

That's great that you set up a Prentice One Name Study! Will be very interesting to see where that leads. Sadly, the time I have available for genealogy-related efforts is often quite limited, but I'd be happy to help out as I can. Let me know how I can help.

All the best, ...scott

Hi

Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.

Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.

Thank you for being a Wikitreer,

Guy Constantineau - Wikitree leader

Hi Scott,

I do not think the two Paul L. Gibson (Gibson-8763 and Gibson-13371) are the same. Gibson-8763's mother is my cousin Cora Lewis, which is not the mother of Gibson-13371. Great to hear from you!

Hi Scott,

Thanks for becoming pre-1700 certified. My goodness you've done a lot of work since joining! That's amazing! Now you are going to be working on older profiles, I encourage you to collaborate with others in a project. This is a great way for you to get to know other WikiTree members. I see you have ancestors that would fit in a number of different projects. Have a look at the Pre-1700 Projects. Which might you be interested in joining?

Do you have any questions? I'm here to help,

Hi Scott –

Thank you for joining WikiTree. I hope you’re enjoying our site.

I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can help you with?

Shirley – WikiMentor

Hello Scott,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiMessenger

PS Good work so far! Have you noticed on ancestor profiles on bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try!

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family.

Have a look at our New Member How-To page for some tips and tricks on getting started. If the link doesn't work in your e-mail, you can find it in the public comments on your profile page.

Need help? Just ask!

Above all, have FUN!  :)
