Acadians

We aim to grow and source one family tree of French immigrants who settled in Acadia during the dates 1600-1763.

The Africa Project covers people who were born or lived in Africa. It does not include South Africa. See South Africa Project

Appalachia

The Appalachia Project is a 205,000-square-mile region that follows the spine of the Appalachian Mountains from southern New York to northern Mississippi. It includes all of West Virginia and parts of 12 other states: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Australia

The Australia Project covers the profiles of people who were born or lived in Australia. It includes Australian First Nations people with familial heritage from, and membership in, the ethnic groups that lived in Australia before British colonisation.

To coordinate WikiTreers who are researching and improving WikiTree's coverage of families in the Bahamas.

Denmark

This project is for those with an interest in Denmark and its history.

Early Scandinavia

The mission of this project is to improve and merge the many early Scandinavian profiles on WT, both fictional and historical. The profiles belonging in this project should be born in a location ruled by Scandinavians and have a birth year before the year 1200.

England

The goal of the England project is to reach as high a standard of work as possible on English profiles and to increase the number of English profiles on WikiTree.

Finland

The goal of this project is to bring together Finnish people, and those of Finnish descent, in one place to collaborate on Finnish profiles.

France

The mission of the France Project is to support research and collaboration on profiles of French people, as well as people of French heritage or origin.

Germany

The objective of the Germany Project is to create genealogies and biographies for those families that came from Germany and its population in Russia, Poland, Austria, and Switzerland.

Global

The Global Project is an umbrella project for sub-projects, free-space projects, and project teams that don't fit within another existing top-level project.

Hungary

The purpose of the Hungary Project is to help new members with Hungarian ancestry. Members of the project can also identify and correct WikiTree profiles indicating Hungarian ancestry. The Hungary project will also create and correct village categories for Hungary.

Mission

The mission of the India Project is to provide members who share an interest in Indian genealogy with a hub from which to research, learn, and grow, alongside others with similar geographic and genealogical interests.

Goals

  • To bring like-minded WikiTreers together in a collaborative effort to make every Indian profile on WikiTree the best it can be.
  • To provide a single location at which to gather the available resources and information necessary to assist members in building and documenting Indian genealogies.
  • To develop our members' expertise in Indian genealogical research in order to better assist less-experienced members in their genealogical pursuits.

Black Heritage

This is a worldwide project that will assist location projects to create something similar to the US Black Heritage Project that meets their local needs. The Black Heritage project will build and oversee categories and systems dealing with the topic of slavery worldwide.

Disasters

For WikiTreers interested in the development of profiles for victims, survivors, rescue workers or humanitarian aid workers of all disasters all over the world from ancient until the present, as well as free-space pages detailing the events.

European Royals and Aristocrats

The oldest and largest project on WikiTree, EuroAristo's focus is on the noble families of Europe from 1500 A.D. to the present day. Pre-1500 profiles are part of the more recent Medieval Project.

Holocaust

The Holocaust Project's mission is to reinforce remembrance of the victims of the Holocaust, which stands amongst the most atrocious events of savagery in the history of the human race.

Huguenot Migration

This project focuses on those French-speaking Protestant Christians who fled their French-speaking homelands (France, Alsace-Lorraine, today's Belgium etc.) to avoid religious persecution, migrating to other countries, including England, Holland, and Germany. It includes second and third generation Huguenot family members, born outside their parents' French-speaking homeland, who then migrated beyond Protestant Europe to North & South America, South Africa, the East Indies etc.

Jewish Roots

Magna Carta

The goal of this project is to categorize and improve profiles of the twenty-five medieval barons who were surety for Magna Carta; about two hundred proven American colonial Gateway Ancestors who were their descendants; and the documented lineages that connect them.

Mayflower

For WikiTreers who are working on the profiles of the Mayflower passengers and their immediate families.

Medieval Project

In the history of Europe, the Middle Ages or Medieval Period lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. It began with the fall of the Western Roman Empire and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery. This Project is for WikiTreers who are pre-1500 certified and interested in improving the profiles of people that lived prior to the year 1500 A.D.

Military and War

The purpose of this project is to build profiles and pages for the various military and war related events in our ancestries.

Native Americans

A top-level project to manage and develop sub-projects according to tribe, event or other area of historical or cultural interest. The geographic scope will be lower 48 states plus Alaska in North America. The time frame will cover pre-colonial until the present.

New Netherland Settlers

This project focuses on New Netherland families who settled the area during Dutch rule, and also includes their ancestors, descendants and other members of the New Netherland community. The primary period of interest ended in October 1674, but other people who were in the New Netherland area before 1700 and settlers' descendants who were born there as late as 1776 may also be included. A project to help add and connect the people and families of Notables throughout history to our global tree.

Palatine Migration

The WikiTree Palatine Migration Project aims to support research and collaboration on profiles of German-speaking migrants, usually called "Palatine Germans" or "Palatines," who settled in North America, Ireland and elsewhere in the 18th century, prior to the American Revolution.

Puritan Great Migration

For WikiTreers interested in the early Puritan colonists who started arriving after the Mayflower and form the 20-40k settlers who arrived in New England mostly between 1621 and 1640.
