Sticker code for your personal profile can be found here

posted by Patty (Luker) LaPlante
Hi! Please check that when you add the Appalachia Sticker, it says what you wanted it to ...

{Appalachia Sticker |lived West Virginia |needs=Biography |needs1=Research |needs2=Sources }

I assume you meant it to say the person lived in Appalachia, in West Virginia... instead, it has the default text:

Melissa Maynard was an Appalachian.

and added a database error to the profile. x116 (you've been busy).

To have the sticker say what I think you meant you needed another pipe and a named parameter:

{Appalachia Sticker |lived |state=West Virginia |needs=Biography |needs1=Research |needs2=Sources

}
Melissa Maynard lived in Appalachia, in West Virginia.

If a sticker you add doesn't say what you thought it would, check the template page. For the Appalachia Sticker, that's https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Appalachia%20Sticker

Thanks!

ps - keep in mind that West Virginia did not exist before 20 June 1863

LOL I'm failing to reign in my inner smart aleck, who insists that we must say that Appalachia existed before 20 June 1863, though it did change its mailing address in places like Toll Gate.

Thanks for your work on Samuel Bohart's profile. Hopefully someone has the information to add his parents.

FYI, Judy Lowe Blackburn was married to a 2nd husband, Lloyd Duty. They were married 3 times. She was not buried by her first husband, Hayse Blackburn. She was buried in a cemetery near Inez, KY. She was my aunt.

Hi again Leon - so this is Hayes' headstone...so Judy was not buried with Hayes? Was she buried with Lloyd Duty?

Hello, Melissa!

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s VERY IMPORTANT to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Regarding your private message about the Connect-a-thon:

Uploading a GEDcom and going through it to do a GEDCompare would take too long. You need to add profiles to existing profiles for scores to count. You can always upload the GEDCom later and run the GEDCOMpare process and use them for the next Connect-a-thon.

See the following link for scoring for the Connect-a-thon.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

HI Cheryl,

A very, very old reply here. I've been taking many pictures and uploading to Find a Grave, fixing existing grave profiles, adding missing photos, adding the GPS coordinates, etc. Was I supposed to also be adding them here in WikiTree? And if I do, am I supposed to mark them as part of the Cemeterist Project?
