DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Danny or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Danny:

Have you taken a DNA test? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

Hi Danny, you have been a big help in the past (to me and everybody else!!) - you had mentioned following up on this post https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1696517/documents-for-johann-michael-bachtle-of-baden-wurttemberg via PM. I got so interested in the area (Altburg, Zavelstein, etc) that I made a dedicated ancestry tree for Calw. I'm inclined to think my connection to this family is via Rosina Velte Hauff https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Velte-42 with ancestors in the same area. I am still indignant about the spurious Rosina Dollman attached to Michael Baechtle https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/B%C3%A4chtle-5. There are no documents. That Rosina is from way across Germany. I think the wife should have been somebody from Calw, related to the Veltes. I have numerous DNA matches with all the children of Michael Baechtle but have not yet made the connection. If you have a look at the emigration document for his brother, it might have some clues? https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Bachtle-7 thanks!!!!

Danny - thanks again for your generous and valuable assistance translating the record for Maria Klein and her family. You saved me many many hours of research!

Danny, thank you for the help on my Lohmann family. I appreciate that you found additional brothers and corrected the information on the father. Plus the Obituaries you found on Ancestry really helped to connect other members of that family. On the father Carl, I suspected the information that had been entered was for a different person and you were able to provide the right info. Do you think it also means that the mother connected to him is incorrect, as the "other" Carl Lohmann was thought to be an iligitimite child and this corrected version of Carl Lohmann doesn't identify parents at all. Again, I really appreciate your help. Cindy

No problem.

Ah, I see, so the attached mother was linked to the source that originally was on the profile? In this case the mother is definetely wrong. I was anyways wondering where she came from. So we will have to detach her and give her her son back :) I will do that later.

The Poland Project is very busy categorizing villages in Poland. If we have created a village category for you, please help us by adding it across other profiles you manage, where applicable. You can also assist us by finding and adding it to other Wikitree profiles from the same village through the Find link at the top right of your page. Scroll to the bottom, "Search for Any Text". Categorizing = connecting users or profiles. Thank you for any help you have to offer!

Sure I will help, I have a lot in Pawłowa near Łódź. Now there are two Categorys popping up, one in English, one in Polish, which one should it be?

Category:Pawłowa, Bełchatów, Łódź, Poland OR Category:Pawłowa, Bełchatów, Łódzkie, Polska

In Germany we only use the German naming, thats why I ask.

Hi Danny! You use which ever one you feel most comfortable with. They are parallel categories to each other, so pick one, and it will show across both. It seems redundant ... especially for Łódź because the name is so similar, but it's different for other voivodeships (Podkarpackie v. Subcarpathian.) Thank you so much for your help! :)

I'm categorizing across Łódź currently. If I have missed a village and you would like a category created for it, you are free to message me or leave a comment here anytime.

Welcome to WikiTree and DNA.

My name is John Kingman. I am a Coordinator with the WikiTree DNA Project.

Since you have started following a DNA tag, you may be interested in how you can use DNA test matches with your relatives to strengthen your genealogy on WikiTree. You will find the answers in the Help pages, of which the DNA Help category page shows all the DNA help that is available, and the How to Get Started with DNA page is highlighted. Also the DNA Features page can show you various ways that DNA tests can work with your genealogy.

You may see some relatives show up in your list of "DNA Connections" on your profile if they have added a DNA test to their profile. These DNA Connections are possible DNA test matches, they are not sufficient for marking parental relationships as "confirmed with DNA" without providing a DNA Confirmation source citation providing details of an acceptable DNA match. You may find that you have acceptable matches with some of them. There is more information about DNA Connections on the DNA Test Connections page.

When you are ready to start documenting that your genealogy sources are confirmed by DNA test matches, be sure to follow the guidance at the Confirmed with DNA help page. Also, I strongly recommend using the DNA Confirmation Citation Maker, for creating and/or validating your DNA confirmation source citations. Note that a profile should not be marked "confirmed with DNA" without source citations for both genealogy and relevant DNA test matches.

If you have questions or need assistance, feel free to ask on the G2G Forum using the Tag "DNA" and/or "DNA_Confirmation".

Happy WikiTree-ing!

John Kingman
