Research notes

Unknown Junkine (abt.1782-)
This son "Unknown" chap is a placeholder to connect in the family of James Henderson given the excellent BigY DNA match and triangulated autosomal matches between descendants of both James and of Patrick/Peter. :Whether he is a son of Patrick, or a connection from an earlier generation remains to be seen, and we may never know.Henderson-2297 10:25, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Patrick/Peter's death?

Several trees show Patrick as dying in 1838. Does anyone have a source for this?

DNA

A descendant of Patrick's grandson Peter has tested BIgY and is currently allocated to SNP R-BY19859 along with his "Henderson" matches. His test has subsequently resulted in these closely related latter Henderson testers (2nd and 3rd cousins) forming their own sub group under R-BY19865. All now show on their common SNP branch beneath the Discover Haplogroup report for the older R-S7361 branch
The journey to this discovery is docmented here.
We are definitely on the look-out for yDNA test candidates for any Junkin / Jenkins direct male line descendants, particularly from lines other than Patricks grandson Peter. Please contact Lorna if interested in exploring this.
