Janet was born 28 Jan 1786 (see Junkin Image 1) probably Port of Menteith, Perthshire, Scotland. She is the daughter of Peter Junkine and Mary Buchanan. She passed away after 1841. [1]

Research notes
There are two Janet Junkine/Jenkin etc around in the same timeframe / vicinity
- Janet married to James Black in 1816 Kilmadock
- Janet married to James Jack in 1811 Port of Menteith
- Both appear in the 1841 census with their families
- As the Black family includes a first daughter named Christian my assumption is that that Janet is the one baptised to William Jinkin & Christin Baird in 1781, particularly as this baptism is a little earlier than would be expected for a 50 year old in the 1841 census Henderson-2297 [4]
