After the war, he served Monongalia County as a Justice of the Peace until 17 Aug 1815. In the early 1800s he engaged in surveying. He is said to have been the owner of a fine farm, located on White Day Creek.

I notice Morgen Morgen III is buried in the Harperstown Cem - Can anyone tell me exactly where that is? I am a descent of Henry Weaver who live close to these Morgans (the 400 a next to Richard Smith of the Smithtown property). I have found a reference to Henry and Catherine Weaver and a mere three other souls buried there. I also see it called the White Day Creek Cem - it is on find a grave without anyone tagged as owning it to contact them. I see this one reference regarding the Morgen family. I wonder if it is the same place.
I have transcribed the will of Morgan "Mod" Morgan and have it available in simple text, a Word Document and a pdf. I will provide to whoever wants it. IMHO it would be good to have it attached here for easy reference. Let me know. I will also e-mail to anyone who requests it by private message.
I had heard that a will had been found that would clear up the parentage of my "Isaac" Morgan (the Isaac, Sr. above) it doesn't, because this will makes no mention of the children of his son Isaac.
I am confused. Is there really a Isaac Morgan and an Isaac Morgan Sr ?
The dates of birth are a few years apart and Sr lists several children and two wives. Isaac only lists one child. Which is correct or is there
really only one Isaac, son of Morgan Morgan
Isaac Morgan Sr. should be the only Isaac that is the child of Morgan Morgan III. I don't see a Sarah Vance married to Isaac Morgan documented. I know there are many Isaacs, but I don't see any relationship there. I would ask Patricia to provide proof or delete it.
well I think she might be right. i thumbed thru this entire document online
https://www.genealogy.com/ftm/m/o/r/William-dallas-Morgan-PA/GENE1-0001.html
and only found the info about Isaac having a wife of Sarah Vance. This document supposedly is the DESCENDANTS OF MORGAN MORGAN
400 pages and nothing mentions Isaac Sr.
where do you show him to be son of Morgan Morgan b.1746
thanks for your help
Jim, my aunt, now 97, spent a lot of time connecting Issac to Morgan Morgan III. She mentioned that Isaac was referenced in the Col. Morgan Morgan genealogy book published in the 1950's or 1960's (which looks like the source you are referencing). Isaac married 3 times and ended up in Jackson Ohio married to Susannah Rose, who was married to Henry Vance just prior to marrying Issac prior to his death. I believe this is where the "Sarah Vance" is connected as I found the Ohio married records.
My aunt mentioned she had letters from his sisters questioning his salvation overall. Anyway, I have submitted a Y DNA test for my father recently and hope to establish a connection there. It seems like a weak connection so I hope the test will make it stronger.
so if he married 3 times, you are saying its possible that he had more kids then?
Here is how i am connected hopefully.
Isaac Morgan b around 1781 married to Elizabeth Maxwell
had son Oliver Benson Morgan b 1816 married to Deborah Thorn Campbell
had son Harvey Benson Morgan, 1837 married to Margaret Ann Craig
had son Alexander Benson Morgan b 1862 married to Bertha Estelle Buerkley
had daughter Louise Morgan b 1913 which in fact is my grandma
Everything i show is positive i am related to all those until it hits Isaac. I have only been working on this stuff for a few months and havent paid for any websites or been to any genealogy libraries. what do you suggest?
My great grandmother Lousia is the little sister of "Uncle Dan" Alexander Benson Morgan (that is what my grandfather called his uncle). I have been trying to connect Isaac with anyone for over 20 years, and have paid for websites and visited libraries, etc. My grandfather had him linked to Mod Morgan "the Indian Fighter" as well.
I remain skeptical of the link because of the places where we know our Isaac was, he married a girl (Elizabeth Maxwell) from Westmorland County, Pennsylvania. If he was from Morgantown, WV (then Virginia) what was he doing up in Westmoreland County? Additionally there are Morgans in Westmorland County in 1790, a "William Morgin" and a "Morgin Morgin" but I don't think he is this Morgan Morgan though I only see one census for this Morgan Morgan above and it is 1820. I think I should see if there are any Morgan wills in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. That would at least tell us if there are other Morgans we should be looking at.
Westmoreland County, PA is just north of Morgantown WV. Please forward the will that you have to help with this link. I would agree the link is weak, but it appeared that Issac did wander a bit ending up in Jackson Ohio in which I have letters by Oliver Sr saying that he died and was buried before he got there in Jackson. We never found where Issac was buried, but somewhere close to Jackson.
Morgan-14627 and Morgan-145 appear to represent the same person because: Issac Morgan is the son of Morgan Morgan and when I imported it. I created a second one.
Morgan-10526 and Morgan-145 appear to represent the same person because: same dates, spouse (tho her surname is misspelled in one case -- should be Prickett.
Morgan-10730 and Morgan-145 appear to represent the same person because: SAME DOB, pob, spouse. Death date of 1797 is wrong I think. Here's the link to his findagrave.com entry:
