I have been interested in genealogy since the 1990s. Discovering that my local library had a copy of Rohrbach Genealogy, Vol. III motivated me to learn more about my maternal lines. I was able to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution through my Rohrbough line.

Please get in touch if you think we are related. Both sides of my family settled in Virginia/West Virginia. I now live in California, but have strong family ties to the states of West Virginia, Virginia and Ohio. I am a Team Leader for the Appalachia Project. Hi Karen, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a marvelous New Year.

The Annual US Civil War January Challenge is to connect US Civil War Soldiers for the January Connect-a-Thon. This year will be a twist of what I usually do. Instead of you choosing a "Surname Letter", you will be choosing from a block of soldiers whom I've already screened that show they have family to connect. Each soldier has a connection to one or more of his immediate family--parents, siblings, spouses, children, on their profile. Whether you work on one soldier or your whole block of soldiers, it's one step closer in our goal to connect each of our US Civil War Soldiers. The goal is to make sure all these soldiers are connected at least by one or two degrees. You can sign up now by clicking this link: US Civil War Sign-up Chart

Hi! I'm working on replacing Appalachian Roots stickers, as that sticker will soon be changed to be only for descendants, with Appalachia Sticker used for born / lived options.

See Template: Appalachia Sticker. You should just need to change Appalachian Roots to Appalachia Sticker [no "n"] & add |app-cat=West Virginia - add, don't replace state=West Virginia ...

{Appalachia Sticker|born|state=West Virginia|app-cat=West Virginia} will do the same as what {Appalachian Roots|born|state=West Virginia} does now but won't once I get through all the profiles that are using it now & update them to the Appalachia Sticker.

Give me a holler if you have any questions.

Cheers, Liz
