Lesley is the daughter of Harry Leamon and Josephine Doshi. She was born in 1961 in what was then Scunthorpe, Lincoln-Lindsey, now called Lincolnshire, England. [1] Lesley and her mother Josephine, travelled to Kenya for an extended holiday. Upon their return they moved to Eastcote, a suburb of Northeast London where Lesley started primary school. Around 1967 the family moved to Abergavenny, Monmouthshire as Lesley's father was posted to the Richard Thomas and Baldwin branch in Ebbw Vale, where he worked as a systems analyst, later to become part of British Steel.
Maternal relationship is confirmed with an AncestryDNA test match between Josephine Doshi and Lesley Leamon, parent child. Predicted relationship reported by AncestryDNA: Daughter based on sharing 3,583.8cM across 24 segments; Confidence: Extremely High
The name Leamon is of Anglo-Saxon origin, and derives from the Olde English pre 7th Century personal name "Leofman", Middle English "Lefman", which is composed of the elements "leof", dear, beloved and "mann", man; this is a rare given name of which only three pre Conquest examples are known. The name was reinforced by the popular Middle English term "lem(m)an", lover, sweetheart, often used as a nickname for a lover or sweetheart, and originally a compound of the same Olde English elements as above. Other surnames from this source include: Loveman, Lowman, Luffman, Leamon, Leeman, Lemmon, Lemon and Limon. The personal name appears as "Leman" in the Domesday Book for Hampshire (1086), while the surname itself first appears in the late 12th Century (as below).Other early examples include: William Luveman, in the Register of the Freemen of Leicester, 1196 - 1770, in 1221; Aumfridus Leofman, in the 1221 Assize Court Rolls of Worcestershire; and William Lemmon, in the Subsidy Rolls of Worcestershire of 1275. George Leaman married Mary Thorowgood on July 24th 1659 at St.Dunstan's, Stepney, London. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Reiner Leman, which was dated 1185, in "Records of the Knights Templars in England in the 12th Century" (Essex), during the reign of King Henry 11, known as "The Builder of Churches", 1154 - 1189. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.

I ran the report after fixing a couple of relationships and don't see my profile ID listed anywhere so assuming it got fixed?

Thanks for your message about the proposed merge of the two Marie Young profiles. I have taken the liberty of adding a Research Note to both profiles, which can be removed once any further information comes to light, and also changing the status to Unmerged Match.
Kind regards.

The United Kingdom Project has not been active since 2018 and we are now completely closing it down. We are removing all UK project badges. If you still have an interest in the UK and have not already joined another project, then you will need to join the England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales Project by answering one or more of their G2G posts. If your interest is in the British Isles and British Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories, then please contact me directly.

It’s time for a Project check-in!
Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.
What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?
This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.
The Global Cemeteries Project is currently undergoing our member check-in and wanted to verify that you are still active and interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Cemetery Teams? If not, is there a particular Team or area you are interested in participating with? I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!
We use Google Groups for internal project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup for access feel free to submit a join request and we will get that approved as quick as possible. We also ask that members check their follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (CEMETERIES) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.
Last, but not least, we would like to thank you for all of your contributions to WikiTree and let you konw that any ideas or suggestions for improvement you may have for the Global Cemeteries Project would greatly appreciated!
I look forward to hearing form you soon!
Steve ~Global Cemeteries Project Leader
regards, Lesley
I've not heard back from your regarding the England Project check-in. I've sent two messages to you previously. I hope you are ok.
One of the requirements for England Project membership is that you respond to the check-ins. Requirements can be found on the England Project page. I've gone ahead and removed you from the project. We are sorry to see you go but you would be most welcome to rejoin via the G2G sign up post at any time.
Best wishes,
Susie, England Project Leader :-)
I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the England Project Leaders and have yet to heard back from you. I hope you are well.
One of the requirements of membership in the England Project is that you respond to the six-monthly check-ins.
If I dont hear from you in the next week or so Ill assume you no longer wish to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at any time via the G2G sign-up post.
Best wishes,
Susie :-)
On behalf of the England Leaders, I wanted to say a huge thank you for all your contributions towards the project in the past six months as a Team Member for Data Doctors and Surrey. We've achieved a great deal during this time and we couldn't have done it without you.
Are you happy to stay in your current teams and the project as a whole? Are there any other teams you'd like to join? What are we doing well, and what would you like to see us doing differently moving forwards?
Please respond to this message via e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks,
Susie, England Project Leader :-)

PS: Enjoyed reading the history of the Leamon name on your profile.
The Appreciation Team thanks you for all for your hard work for reaching 1000+ (actually, over 1300!) contributions for the month July 2019. Onward and upward!

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.
Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please dont assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.
Many thanks,
Susie

We sent you a message about a week ago about the England Project but have not yet heard back from you. If we don't hear from you by this time next week we'll assume you no longer wish to be in the project.
