Biography

Jane was born about 1842 in Herring Cove, Halifax County, Nova Scotia to Archibald Darrach and Ellen King.

She married John Brown in 1873 in Herring Cove.[1] They remained in Herring Cove; they had no known children together, but had an adopted son named Stanley Brown.

Jane and John, along with all of Jane's living Darrach siblings and their spouses were named on an 1881 deed for sale of property in Herring Cove that they had inherited from their mother Ellen after she had died intestate in 1880.[2]

Jane passed away in 1895 in Herring Cove,[3] and is buried in St. James Anglican Cemetery.[4]
