Archibald was born in 1829 in Herring Cove, Halifax County, Nova Scotia to Archibald Darrach and Ellen King.
Archibald, son of Archibald Darrach was recorded as 10 years old in the May 1840 enrolment at Herring Cove school.[1]
He worked as a fisherman.
In 1857, Archibald and his brother Frederick Darrach jointly bought a lot on the east side of Herring Cove from Jeffrey Power and Jane (Fitzgerald) Power for 65 pounds.[2]
He married Mary Brown in 1863 in Herring Cove.[3] They had 10 known children together in Herring Cove.
Archibald and Mary were named along with all of Archibald's living siblings and their spouses on an 1881 deed for sale of property in Herring Cove that they had inherited from their mother Ellen after she had died intestate in 1880.[4]
Archibald passed away in 1919 in Herring Cove,[5] and is buried at St. James Anglican Cemetery.[6]
