Biography

Margaret was born in 1823 in Herring Cove, Nova Scotia to Archibald Darrach and Ellen King, and was baptised July 21st 1823 at St. Matthew's Presbyterian Church in Halifax.[1]

She married Dennis Kelliher on an unknown date. In 1861 and later they were living in Herring Cove. They had no known children together, but raised Margaret's niece Mary Brackett (b. 1860), the daughter of Redmond Brackett and Amelia Darrach. Dennis died about 1881.

Margaret was named along with her siblings and their spouses on an 1881 deed for sale of property in Herring Cove that they had inherited from their mother Ellen when she died intestate in 1880.[2] The indenture was supposedly made in July 1881 and included the required signoff of Margaret's husband Dennis Kelliher; however, the deed was not registered until April 24th 1884 at which point it is noted that Dennis was now deceased.

Research Notes

Her date of death is unknown. Her last known record is the 1901 census; she is not found on the 1911 census.
