Biography

Domithilde Williams, daughter of Joseph Williams dit Bristol and Marguerite Cormier, was born in Cocagne on June 16, 1861 and baptized on July 28, 1861 (recorded in both the parish registers of Cocagne and Grande-Digue).^[1][2][3]

In the 1861 census, she was 2 months old and lived with her family in the district of Dundas. She was one of 9 children.^[4]

In the 1871 census, she was 8 years old and lived with her family in Dundas. Her father's occupation was teacher.^[5]

In the 1881 census, she was 19 years old and lived with her parents and 3 of her sisters.^[6]

She married Simeon LeBlanc, son of Dominique LeBlanc and Angélique Landry, on June 9, 1890 in Memramcook.^[7] They had 4 children together:

1. Regina Leblanc (1891-1959)
2. Arthur Joseph Leblanc (1895-____)
3. Marie Dina Leblanc (1896-____)
4. Angélique Laura Leblanc (1898-____)

In the 1891 census, she lived with her husband in the household of her father-in-law Dominique LeBlanc, in the district of Dorchester.^[8]

According to the 1910 United States census, Domithilde, her husband, and their children arrived in the U.S. about 1899. In the census they lived in Lynn, Massachusetts.^[9]

She was pre-deceased by her husband Simeon sometime before 1921. Domithilde was noted in the 1921 census of Canada as a widow. She lived in Dorchester, New Brunswick with her son Arthur.^[10]

In the 1930 U.S. census, Domithilde was 69 years old and lived in Lynn, Massachusetts in the household of her son Arthur. Her daughter Laura also lived with them.^[11]

She passed away in 1938 in Massachusetts.^[12]
