Dosithee Williams dit Bristol, son of Joseph Williams and Marguerite Cormier, was born on March 2, 1851 and baptized on March 16, 1851 in Cocagne. His godparents were Amable Richard and Clemence Cormier.[1]
In the 1861 census, he lived with his family in the parish of Dundas. His father Joseph worked as a farmer and Dosithee, age 10, was one of 9 children.[2]
He married Elizabeth Fougere on January 6, 1873 in Shediac. Witnesses were Jude Cormier and Marie Fougere.[3][4] Children of Dosithee Bristol and Elizabeth Fougere:
In the 1881 census, Dosithee was 36 years old, lived in Shediac, and worked as a labourer. He lived with his wife Elizabeth and 4 children[5]
In the 1891 census, he was 40 years old and lived in Shediac with his wife and 5 children[6]
In the 1901 census, Dosithee was 40 years old (sic, actually 50) and worked as a mill man. He lived with his wife and 3 of their children in Lancaster, Saint John.[7]
He died before the 1911, since his wife Elizabeth was listed as a widow in the 1911 census of Canada.
