Biography

Dina Williams, daughter of Joseph Williams and Marguerite Cormier, was born on June 19, 1856 and baptized on June 22 in Cocagne, New Brunswick. Her godparents were Celestin Gueguen and Marie M. Boucher.^[1][2]

In the 1861 census, she was 5 years old and lived in the parish of Dundas with her 8 siblings and her parents. Her father Joseph worked as a farmer.^[3]

In the 1871 census, Dina was 14 years old and lived with her parents and siblings in Dundas. Her father's profession was now teacher.^[4]

In the 1881 census, she was 24 years old and lived with her parents and 3 younger siblings.^[5]

She married Napoléon Léger, son of Edouard Léger and Madeleine Richard, on July 22, 1889 when she was 33 years old.^[6][7] In the 1891 census, they lived together in the parish of St. Mary's in Kent county.^[8]

Dina and Napoleon had one child together, who lived for two days:

1. Joseph Tilmon Léger (1895-1895)

Dina passed away about two weeks after her son was born, on April 5, 1895 in Cocagne.^[9][10]
