Maria Oliveri ("Liveri" in this record) is born and baptized 19 March 1789 in Corleone, named after her paternal grandmother. She is the first born child of Gaetano Oiveri and Giovanna Guadagna. Her godparents are Don Girolamo Geraci, who is unmarried, and Rosa Geraci, wife of Calogero.[1]
Maria marries Giuseppe Cascio on 3 February 1805. Their parents are all living.
Maria and Giuseppe have at least ten children: Emmanuela (1806), Leoluca (1808), two daughters named Carmela (1811 and 1818), Giovanna (1813), Francesca (1815), Gaetano (1821), Lucia (1825), Giovanni (1828), and Biagio (1831).
In 1807, Giuseppe, 25 (b. 1782), his wife, Maria, 21 (b. 1786), and their daughter, Emmanuela, 2 (b. 1805), live beside the church on Sant'Elena in Corleone. Giuseppe's sisters, Lucia and Biagia, live nearby.
Leoluca, named after his paternal grandfather, is born and baptized on 7 November 1808. His godparents are Mariano and Anna Gulotta, a married couple.
The first daughter named Carmela is born and baptized on 11 March 1811. Her godparents are Giuseppe and Filippa Vernagallo, brother and sister.
Francesca is born 8 February 1816 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Francesco and her paternal aunt Lucia Palazzo, a married couple.
Carmela dies at around age six (b. 1811) on 9 May 1817.
The second daughter named Carmela is born and baptized 6 December 1818. Her godparents are Stefano and Carmela (Streva) Cascio, a married couple.
Gaetano is born and baptized on 13 October 1821, named after his maternal grandfather. His godparents are Giuseppe and Maria Gennaro, a married couple.
Lucia is born 7 March 1825 and baptized the next day, named after her paternal aunt. Her godparents are Benedetto and Francesca Gulotta, a married couple.
Giovanni is born and baptized 14 January 1828. His godparents are Bernardo and Lucia Riina, a married couple.
Biagio is born and baptized 5 November 1831. His godparents are Biagio and Biagia Cascio, a married couple.
First Child's Marriage
Emmanuela marries twice, first to Mariano Cammarata on 9 April 1834. Her father, Giuseppe, has died by this time.
Giovanna marries later the same month, to Giuseppe Ligotino, on 29 April. It is the first marriage for them both.
Death of Giuseppe
Giuseppe lo Cascio dies at age 60 (b. 1773) on 27 October 1833. His wife, Maria, survives him.
Francesca marries Salvatore Ligotino, Giuseppe's first cousin, on 15 October 1837.
Leoluca marries twice, first to Giovanna Giuffrida on 20 May 1838.
Emmanuela marries for the second time, to Calogero di Miceli, on 20 March 1839.
Carmela marries Vincenzo Ligotino, her brother-in-law, Giuseppe's brother, on 13 January 1840. Carmela's father, Giuseppe, has died by this time.
Biagio, the youngest child, dies at age nine (b. 5 Nov 1831) on 27 August 1840.
Lucia marries Francesco Spadafora on 26 November 1842, when she is seventeen. Maria is still living.
Leoluca's first wife dies at age 40. He marries Salvatrice Ligotino two months later, on April 29, 1850. Salvatirce is the niece of Giuseppe and Vincenzo (she's their brother, Carmelo's daughter)
Gaetano marries Anna Maria di Palermo, a widow, on 7 February 1852.
Giovanni dies, reportedly at age 45 (b. 1816) but actually only 32 years old, on 27 January 1861. He is unmarried.
Emmanuela dies at age 59 on 16 December 1864.
Gaetano dies, reportedly at age 46 (he is 44) on 20 October 1865. He is survived by his wife.
Leoluca dies age 63 on 19 April 1872. His father has passed away by this time, andhis mother is living. Salvatrice also survives him.
Death of Maria
Maria dies, reportedly at age 90 (she is 86), on 7 April 1875. She has not remarried, despite being widowed for more than forty years.
Francesca dies at age 63 on 18 July 1879. Salvatore has predeceased her. After her death, the Church convenes a High Court to confirm their daughter, Lucia's, paternity.
Giovanna dies at age 67 (b. 1813) on 1 January 1881. She is survived by her husband, Giuseppe.
Carmela dies five days later, age 64, on 6 January 1881. She is survived by her husband, Vincenzo.
Lucia dies at age 77 on 4 October 1902, the widow of Francesco, who died in 1900.[2]
