Biography
Joseph Dominique Morin was born and baptized on 9 May 1839 in Saint-Anselme parish in Bellechasse, Bas-Canada. He was the son of Dominique Morin, farmer, and Madeleine Corriveau of this parish. Sponsors at Dominique's baptism were Joseph Morin and Marie Geneviève Morin; neither signed the register.
At age 21 Dominique married first wife Zoe Matheiu on 22 Jan 1861 in Saint-Vital parish in Lambton, Frontenac. There were five known children born into this marriage. Zoe died in 1881.
At age 42 Dominique married second wife Marie Célina Roberge on 1 Mar 1882 in Lambton.
Dominique died at age 78 on 4 Aug 1917 in Courcelles, Beauce, Québec; he was buried three days later on 7 Aug in Saint-Martine parish cemetery.
