Biography

N.B. I am unlinking Thomas (Morgan-4741) as the son of Morgan Morgan (Morgan-128) and Catherine Garretson (Garretson-134) since he was born when Morgan Morgan was just two years old and two years before his own mother (Garretson-134) was born. Catherine Garretson^[1][2] was born on 16 May 1692 in Christiana, New Castle County, Delaware,^[3] the younger of two known children and the only daughter of Henry and Ann Powell Garretson.

On 16 May 1713, her twenty-first birthday, she married Morgan Morgan in New Castle County, Delaware.^[4]. She bore him eight known children, seven sons and one daughter:

6. Anne Morgan
7. Henry Morgan
8. Evan Morgan

They lived in a log cabin (since covered with siding) in Bunker Hill, Berkeley County, Virginia,

Morgan Morgan built his cabin between 1731 and 1734. The cabin was restored as a Bicentennial project in 1976, using many of its original logs. Located along West Virginia Secondary Route 26 west of Bunker Hill, it is a historically furnished museum.

On 16 May 1773, her eighty-first birthday, she died of unknown causes in Berkeley County, Virginia.^[7]
