Biography

Emilie was born in 1855. She was the daughter of Christian Scheel and Johanne Cargus. She emigrated from Germany to McNab Township, Ontario, located near Ottawa, when she was a child. Her father was a farmer in this new country of Canada. Emilie married a farmer Fred Runtz from the same community and they had ten children. A marriage record hasn't been located but the marriage probably occurred in 1873 as their first child Minnie Runtz was born in May 1874. Emilie passed away in 1926 and was buried in the Albert Street Cemetery in Arnprior.
