Biography

James McQueen was born about 1876^[1] to father, John William McQueen (1847-1894) and mother, Annie Elizabeth (Polsgrove) McQueen (1856-1937).

James' parents traveled from Kentucky to Texas in a horse-drawn wagon. They settled north west of Blanket, Brown County, Texas, on the Knudson farm. James had nine siblings, three of which passed away at an early age: Clarence - twin of John Carl, and Nathan. James also died as a child. They are buried in the Knudson pasture, not to far from the Neely Dabney farm. Uncle John (John Carl McQueen (1877-1968)) came often to tend and clean the little baby graves. ^[2]
