Biography

Fred Lee McQueen was born on 10 Feb 1884, in Tyler, Texas, to father, John William McQueen (1847-1894), and mother, Annie Elizabeth (Polsgrove) McQueen (1856-1937).[1]

On July 20, 1915, Fred married Pearl M. (Holman) Arskey in El Paso, Texas. He was 31 and she was 18 years old.[2] On 23 Apr 1916, they had one son, Wesley Humphrey McQueen, in Warren, Arizona.[3]

Shortly afterwards, on March 4, 1918, Fred applied with the U.S. Consular to work in Cananea, Mexico, for a period of two years (or when necessary) with the Cananea Consolidated Copper, Co., for the purpose of mining business, while his wife remained in Bisbee, Arizona.[4]

On December 27, 1926, Fred arrives in New Orleans, Louisiana, departing from Cristobal, Canal Zone, from the ship Parismina. At this point he is listed as single male.[5]

By 1933, Fred was living in Long Beach, California, where he has a new wife, listed as"Lois K." (no marriage record found yet.) It also shows that he was an oil worker.[6] [7]

He was listed as working for Douglas Aircraft, in Long Beach, California, when he signed the World War II draft card, at age 58, with his second wife, Lois, as his contact.[8]

Fred Lee McQueen died on April 26, 1968 in Rosemead, Los Angeles, California, USA.[9] He is buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Los Angeles, California.[10]
