Biography
When Hiram King was born on November 2, 1853, in Wilkinson, Georgia, his father, John Jehu King, was 47 and his mother, Elizabeth Betsey Valentine, was 26. He married Cornelia Slaughter and they had seven children together. He then married Mary Jane Pagan and they had eight children together. He died on March 17, 1910, in Harrison, Arkansas, at the age of 56, and was buried in Strong, Arkansas.
In the 1860 census Hiram (age 7) was in Ramah, Wilkinson, Georgia.[1] The household was:
