Biography
When Sgt Bennet King was born on April 4, 1835, in Twiggs, Georgia, his father, John Jehu King, was 28 and his mother, Mary Elizabeth Polly Goddy, was 24. He married Mary Elizabeth Jones on December 27, 1855, in Wilkinson, Georgia. They had nine children in 21 years. He died on February 13, 1913, in Wilkinson, Georgia, having lived a long life of 77 years, and was buried in Gordon, Georgia
