Lydia Howland was the sixth child of Benjamin Howland and Judith Sampson born in Dartmouth, Massachusetts on the 16th of 8th month, 1702 (16 October 1701).[1][2][3]
Lydia acknowledged before the Dartmouth monthly meeting on 21d 7m 1724 [21 Sep 1724] for marrying contrary to discipline in 1719.[4] Her husband acknowledged on the same day.[4] The acknowledgement is as follows:[4]
To the monthly meeting of men and women friends in Dartmouth to be held the 21st day of ye 7th month 1724: Whereas in the year 1719, I proceeded in marriage Contrary to the good order of truth and advice of friends among whom I have been brought up and had any Education and for my Disorderly proceeding I was Justly denied to be one in unity with them the people of God Called Quakers Wherein I freely do acknowledge my fault and I Do desire to be one in unity that God would forgive me my trespass and that friends would pass it by and I to come under the Care of friends again.

2023 4 20 Lydia Howland Soule is Great Granddaughter of Henry Howland II, (Puritan Immigrant). Henry II came to MA several years after his brother John arrived. As did another brother, Authur. Henry II was born 1604 in England. Henry II is brother of John Howland born 1598 in England and was on the "Pilgrim" Mayflower 1620 voyage to Plymouth. Of these three brothers alone come at least 5 future family tie-in presidents, if not more. Lydia Howland married George Soule, Great Grandson of George Soule, pilgrim of Mayflower 1620 voyage to Plymouth, and also, co-signer of Mayflower Compact. per Piver-37.
