Joseph's own profile information

Joseph's Ancestry : (Jacob, Andrew, Andrew, Andrew),

Birth Abington 13 Nov. 1746, Death probably in Otsego Town, Montgomery Co., N. Y., between 1788-1790, possibly in the winter or spring of 1789, when there was a near famine in the area (cf. James A. Frost, Life on the Upper Susquehanna 1783-1860, 1951, p. 22).

Marriage He married in Abington, 15 May 1766, FREELOVE BEAL, born in Abington 27 Aug. 1741, daughter of Abraham and Bathsheba (Shaw) Beal. She was first cousin of Hannah Reed who married Luke Ford (#28 above), and of Sarah Beal who married Andrew Ford (#34 below). She was listed as the head of family in the 1790 Census, Otsego Town, with 2 males over 16, 2 under and 4 females. She probably lived in or a little south of the present village of Milford on the "river road," which extended south from Otsego Lake (data from Roy L. Butterfield, Otsego County historian).

Land and Location Joseph bought land in Township No. 5, later Cummington, from John Cumming of Concord in 1770 and had removed there by 24 Oct. 1771 when he sold land to Jacob Whitmarsh of Bridgewater. He also sold land to Samuel Beal in 1771, to Edmond Lazell in 1778, to Benjamin Woods in 1788 and to Nathaniel Holbrook of Bridgewater in 1788. See also attached IMAGE 2.

Revolutionary War Service He probably had the Revolutionary service listed in Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the Revolutionary War., vol. 5, p. 860. [4]

Public Service Joseph served on committees in Cummington, "to pitch upon the public lots," 28 Sept. 1772 and to hire four soldiers, 3 Aug. 1781.

New Location He probably removed, after selling his lands in Cummington in 1788, to Otsego Town.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Joseph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:

Finished - but will be continuing to work on wife, children, and also ancestors so will come back if need to --- any issues - please comment below -- so I can see what problems are-- also- have to add records to MOLLY as evidence for her being child, all this takes time and I am also working on another major family group more connected to me.... I will not be looking at SARAH OR SALLY until I work on their other siblings - so be patient. And I will be also adding images to ancestors and descendants where appropriate.
Debbie..

Another Very Good Day . Everything seems to be Right on!!! The Siblings look to be are in the right order of Birth. Being that Moses was born in Cummington and Anna Was born in Cummington.. Would it make sense that all of the Children were born in Cummington??? Your work is Most impressive. Mike

Not finished - added more images -- need to sort sources; also went back through the book and can not find Mary/Molly/Polly--- need evidence or will be marking her parents as not confident .
Problem - noticed - the book lists only 8 children - and the one not named is Molly Polly Mason. and her birth date conflicts with Sally -- I will not be removing her - but as I look back through records will see if her name Mary Molly Polly crops up under another son... So more investigation to come - and I will keep in mind book written 1969 and FAGM is also not always correct -- we do know she married and we have proof for that - but also has blot of ink on name!
Not Finished -- added 2 Images that contain text I am working on ---- have looked at profiles back to first Andrew and will continue the process of identifying Parent Id when children first mentioned going back to Andrew 1. The reason to do this is to get a much better idea of how the book was prepared. Also will be jumping around on the various profiles --- again please do not tinker with old or new info--- but do make comments under profile if there are problems - also I am aware that one link is dead - but can be linked if leave wikitree - and have to deal with that -- by checking any profiles I have added it to. Also, this is all going to take time - so be patient.
Amazing work Debbie.

So very glad that You have taken an interest in this Ford Family. And all of the intertwining Families. Mike

Not finished --- have parked information here and marked as UNDER CONTSRUCTION - I would appreciate it if researchers do not tinker with the old or new material as I am jumping back and forth between this profile and his children and wife. I will advise when done.
