Jennie Clark was the daughter of Joel Clark and Sarah Jane Bellamy, born on 29 Sep 1878 in Chinnville, Greenup County, Kentucky.
Jennie married William Thomas Smith (1876–1953) on 26 Mar 1899 in Lawrence County, Ohio. They lived in Oak View in the Ashland area of Boyd County, Kentucky. William operated a coal mine there and that is where their seven children were born.[1][2]

Dwight Avery Smith (1908–1978)

Rebecca Jane (Smith) Clay (1916–1995)
The family moved to Franklin, Warren County, Ohio, about 1919 and ran a farm for a few years. By 1930, They had settled back in Ashland where William worked as a general contractor.[3][4][5][6][7]
William died on 10 Feb 1953 and was buried in Rose Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky. Jennie remained in Ashland until her death on 15 Dec 1975, and she was buried with him.[8][9][10][11][12]
