Biography

Joseph Bennett Clark was the son of Joel Clark and Sarah Jane Bellamy, born on 15 Sep 1867 in Greenup County, Kentucky.[1]

Joe married Caroline "Carrie" Stanley (1876–1935) on 21 Feb 1892 in Greenup County, Kentucky, and they started their family in Oak View, Ashland, Boyd County. Joe was a coal miner. The couple had five children in Ashland, and moved to Cabin Creek, Kanawha County, West Virginia, between 1905 and 1909. They had two daughters in West Virginia, returning to Ashland about 1913. Their youngest daughter was born there.[2][3][4][5][6]

Carrie died on 6 Dec 1935 in Ashland and was buried in Ashland Cemetery. Joe remained there, residing with his son, Edgar, until his death on 20 Jun 1953.[7][8][9][10]
