I'm a Dancer descendant. We are from Barker Dancer's line. Through his son Joseph B Dancer. Barker -> Joseph -> Jesse Evans Dancer -> Roy Evans Dancer -> me, Karen Anne Dancer (Allen). My brother Rick (Richard Evans Dancer) has 2 sons, but neither had children yet. So at this point we have 2 Dancers in that generation with the Dancer name. I'm one of 4: Me, Rick & Judith (twins), & Dana. Between us there are 10 children (8 boys & 2 girls). And among those there are 11 children so far (9 girls and 2 boys). So starting with Barker we are 6 generations. My aunt, Margaret Dancer Simonson had 1 son who was killed in a motorcycle accident. He had 1 daughter, but her mother took her back to Germany and we lost all contact. My uncle, Joseph Wayne Dancer had 2 girls & 1 boy: Linda, Douglas, & Janet. Linda didn't have any children. Doug was killed in a traffic accident at 13. Janet has 2 daughters and the last I heard, 2 grands. My Dad & Uncle Joe were born in Oregon. Everyone's from my generation was born in Oregon. My 2 were born in AZ (as were all 7 off my grands), but everyone else of our kids generation and their kids generation were born in Oregon. My brother now lives in Montana. (You can find him on YouTube under Rick Dancer. He was a news anchor and now does PR and goes on and on about his pet peeves.) My sister Judi is now in Idaho. Our son and his family are also in Idaho. There's a large park in McMinnville, Oregon named the Joe Dancer Park after my uncle. I recently visited the area of southern Vermont where the Cottle's migrated from in the early 19th century. It was unfortunately too short of a visit to do much history hunting but beautiful area and very enjoyable visit. I will be going back to spend more time if I get a chance.
