I'm a Dancer descendant. We are from Barker Dancer's line. Through his son Joseph B Dancer.
Barker -> Joseph -> Jesse Evans Dancer -> Roy Evans Dancer -> me, Karen Anne Dancer (Allen).
My brother Rick (Richard Evans Dancer) has 2 sons, but neither had children yet. So at this point we have 2 Dancers in that generation with the Dancer name.
I'm one of 4: Me, Rick & Judith (twins), & Dana. Between us there are 10 children (8 boys & 2 girls). And among those there are 11 children so far (9 girls and 2 boys). So starting with Barker we are 6 generations.
My aunt, Margaret Dancer Simonson had 1 son who was killed in a motorcycle accident. He had 1 daughter, but her mother took her back to Germany and we lost all contact.
My uncle, Joseph Wayne Dancer had 2 girls & 1 boy: Linda, Douglas, & Janet. Linda didn't have any children. Doug was killed in a traffic accident at 13. Janet has 2 daughters and the last I heard, 2 grands.
My Dad & Uncle Joe were born in Oregon. Everyone's from my generation was born in Oregon. My 2 were born in AZ (as were all 7 off my grands), but everyone else of our kids generation and their kids generation were born in Oregon.
My brother now lives in Montana. (You can find him on YouTube under Rick Dancer. He was a news anchor and now does PR and goes on and on about his pet peeves.) My sister Judi is now in Idaho. Our son and his family are also in Idaho.
There's a large park in McMinnville, Oregon named the Joe Dancer Park after my uncle. There's a smaller one in Beaverton, Oregon named after my Dad: Roy E Dancer Park. Both because of their civic service.

I've just finished adding some info to my bio that might interest you if you are a fan of Texas history. Find the sections entitled:
Ancestors recognized by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas
and
CRT Ancestors (based on DRT information) "Citizen of the Republic of Texas"
In the last category Lydia (Dancer) Cottle my 2G Grandmother is there.
I recently visited the area of southern Vermont where the Cottle's migrated from in the early 19th century. It was unfortunately too short of a visit to do much history hunting but beautiful area and very enjoyable visit. I will be going back to spend more time if I get a chance.
Have you checked out the Arkansas CAGLE families tied to the MEDLOCK families? My Texas MEDLOCK are closely related to them -- findagrave.com/memorial/21783030/molinda-ella-medlock married findagrave.com/memorial/21782969/james-thomas-medlock. Molinda was the daughter of findagrave.com/memorial/73078694/charles-arter-cagle who had two wives (in succession)
James Thomas Medlock was the son of John Copal & Mary "Polly" Pierce Medlock. John Copal Medlock was Son of Thomas Medlock and 2nd wife Rebecca (Unknown) Medlock (aka Mrs. Rebecca Miller). THOMAS MEDLOCK's first wife's name unknown, but they had 4 children, and one of those was Son of Thomas Medlock and Rebecca (Unknown) Medlock
Charles Medlock, father of my father's mother, Harriet Mary Medlock Lawson Smith ... my father was one of two 1/2 sibs and 9 full sibs
You and I are 14 degrees separate, and 15th cousins twice removed but that could change at the flick of a mouse since there's a lot of uncertainty there
Wow, your contribution numbers are an order of magnitude higher than mine... impressive since you've only been on wikitree a couple more years than me! I always wonder how people get these fantastic high numbers. My dad used to subscribe to a Cagle family newsletter from a John B Cagle in Arkansas. When dad passed away none of my siblings wanted that stuff so I kept it. I have been working on getting my CC7 numbers up mainly. I also see you have thank yous an order of magnitude higher than myself. Impressive. Keep up the good work.
WikiTree contributors, "Johann Melchior Kegel (1644-1694)," WikiTree: The Free Family Tree, (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Kegel-8 : accessed 05 May 2023). is the one you have; and so do I, my CAGLE connections via the MEDLOCK are also from "Johann Melchior Kegel (1644-1694),"
MY Connection starts with WikiTree contributors, "John Riley Cagle (1903-1982)," WikiTree: The Free Family Tree, (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cagle-2483 : accessed 05 May 2023). and when you walk it back up the Ancestral tree into the past or down into the roots?, whichever, you walk all the way up to Johann Melchior Kegel
John Riley Cagle (1903 - 1982)
William David Cagle (1882 - 1965)
Charles Arter Cagle (1844 - 1924)
Henry Edward Cagle (1812 - 1864)
Charles Cagle (1780 - abt. 1842)
Jacob Cagle (1755 - 1845)
Johann Theobald DeWalt (Kegel) Cagle (1728 - 1793)
Yes and very few of us are in wikitree at this point... I just searched for John Cagle on wikitree and "died in Texas, USA" and only got two hits. If you do the same thing on findagrave.com you get 45 memorials! I just got my own copy of the 1970 privately published genealogy book (2nd edition?) "The Cagle Families of Cherokee and Pickens Counties Georgia". I think I will be able to work on entries from that book for the rest of my life and not get finished with all that content. The index of the names alone is 59 double column pages!!! The book is pretty well done but does not have a table of contents at the beginning (I will probably create a short one for each of the four sections that detail all the families of several branches).
