Maria Veronica Will's name evolved over the course of time. The German pronunciation of "V" sounds very like "F" to English-speaking people. Thus, Maria Veronica, called "Fronica" in her father's will, eventually became known as Mary Frances "Fanny."
Censuses indicate Fanny was born circa 1774 although that year seems too late. She more likely was born 1768-1769. She died after conveying rights to her dower land in 1854.[1] It is probable that she accompanied her daughter Barbara (Dellinger) Crites to Cherokee County, Georgia, and died there prior to the 1860 census.
