Biography

Mariah (Armistead) Barnes is a part of US Black heritage.

Mariah was born in 1880. She was the daughter of Sandy Armstead and Lou Armistead. ^[1][2]

In the 1900 census Mariah (age 19), Farm Hand, was the single daughter of Lou Armstead in Justice Precinct 1, Hays, Texas.^[3]

In the 1930 census Maria (age 41), Laundress, was the widowed sister of Winnie Benard at 316 Alley, San Marcos, Hays, Texas, United States.^[4]

In the 1950 census Maria (age 66) was the widowed head of household in San Marcos, Hays, Texas, United States. She had one brother, Ivory, in the household.^[5]

Maria passed away in 1965 in San Antonio, Texas. According to her death certificate she was buried in San Marcos Cemetery.
