FamilySearch Scotland Census links

Question

Yesterday I came back to a family I have been adding last month and, as always, clicked on the FamilySearch Census link to start adding further people using those sources. The message was permission denied. A query on Facebook came up with the news that those records are no longer available. So what happens to the many, maybe hundreds, of links to these Scotland Census in biographies. Where else can you find free data? I can access them on Ancestry this year, but maybe not in the future.

I am feeling rather despondent at the thought of having to look at all my Scottish profiles and finding replacement sources.

Thanks Barry. I did search before I asked the question, but have now read the feed. It is as bad as I feared.

Hello Margaret,  I get most of my information from the Scottish People Site.It is very reliable as the information comes from the National Records of Scotland.

The Site works on credits,about 15$ for 30pts.and It's 6pts for a copy.If you have the name of the person youre looking for it can verify the place where they lived for free but not the other family members.

Thanks, Peter. I already pay for two major sites. I understood WikiTree does not want information that is behind a paywall, hence my use of FamilySearch. I can use Ancestry to get the information, it's just the time involved in changing all my links.
