No Provided FamilySearch Citations for the 1950 US Census?

I've been waiting to go back and update material in my managed profiles to reflect new information in the recently-released 1950 US Census. Much of my work in these profiles involves people who lived in Michigan, which appears to be one of the last states in the 1950 census that got finished being indexed at FamilySearch. I notice that no citations are provided at FS for people I looked up in this census, even though the information is now indexed. Has anyone else run into this issue for other states in the 1950 census? Does anyone know if we can expect FS to provide their usual citation links in due course? I'm prepared to craft my own citations for this source, but I'd like to be consistent if possible, and I've always just used and modified FS's own citations. Thanks.

I’ve seen this too for relatives in Wisconsin.

I have seen this for US 1940 and 1950 censuses.

You can use the WikiTree Sourcer extension to generate a citation.

Same problem for Pennsylvania.  I added the 1950 info for myself and a few direct ancestors, and made up my own (hopefully temporary) source citation that includes the URL of the image on Family Search.  But now I get a popup saying the image is unavailable if I click on that link.

Just curious Rob, does Sourcer include the FS URL, and are you seeing any problems with displaying the images?  So far I haven't encountered the problem for 1940.

Here is an example citation generated by Sourcer for a 1950 census. Of course it can be formatted many different ways depending on the Sourcer option settings.

In the 1950 census Harry (age 27), Letter Corrier, was the married head of household in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware, United States.<ref>
'''1950 Census''':
"United States 1950 Census"<br/>
citing Page: 1; Line: 18;<br/>
{{FamilySearch Record|6XLW-3K73}} (accessed 9 November 2022)<br/>
{{FamilySearch Image|3QHK-9QH4-WFSG}}<br/>
Harry E Warren (27), married, Letter Corrier, head of household in Wilmington, New Castle, Delaware, United States. Born in Pennsylvania.
</ref>

The image template works correctly for me and will open the image.
Thanks.  That one works for me too, just using the Family Search URL in the profile (I had forgotten I entered that one).  But the Pennsylvania ones still don't work at the moment.  Family Search appears to be doing something with their data a U.S. state at a time.  If Sourcer's Wiki templates convert to the actual URLs when you use them in a citation, then I'd guess that those templates won't work on a Pennsylvania entry either right now.  Presumably this will fix itself when FS gets finished doing whatever they're doing.

You could go straight to the source. https://1950census.archives.gov/search/  I sometimes use the enumeration district numbers from FamilySearch to find the record I need, but use the archive site because the FS record is sometimes 'glitchy'.

I have seen the lack of the source citations for the 1940 and 1950 census in various southern states. Recently, I encountered the same issue for other census years such as the 1850 census. When that happens, I do use the WikiTree Sourcer app.
