What is happening to Family Search lately?  I have not been using this site too often but every now and then I pop in for a search and lately I've bee getting blank screens when I either search for someone or when I follow a link.

Has anyone else come across this or is it a problem on my end?

I've been using it daily with no problem. Doing searches directly and using the WT Sourcer app

I have been using it daily and have had no problems. I have also downloaded from Ancestry.

Yes, I sometimes get the blank screen, but more often than not I get a 404 page or an Oops! Something went wrong page.

More often.  It's a pain.  I used to do all my research on FS and recommend it to others.  Not now. :(

There seems to be multiple problems with FS lately, especially since their new and not improved search process in September 2021.

I agree with Ros Haywood's comment ' more often than not I get a 404 page or an Oops! Something went wrong page".

Several weeks ago, I was getting getting blank screens when accessing some of the Family Search pages using the Firefox web browser, but was able to successfully reach the same pages via the Edge web browser.

After I cleared the familysearch.org cookie and site data in the Firefox settings and restarted, I was then able to successfully reach the same pages via Firefox, and I haven't experienced any such problems with Family Search pages on Firefox since then.

I continue to use it several times a week, and have not had any issues either.

I've had a few weird glitches over the past couple of weeks.

Something I noticed this morning:

USUAL looking citation from a while ago....."United States Census, 1850," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-665W-37F?cc=1401638&wc=95RJ-7M7%3A1031314301%2C1032446001%2C1031325501 : 9 April 2016), Pennsylvania > Somerset > Jefferson > image 15 of 19; citing NARA microfilm publication M432 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).

NEW? version from today..... "United States Census, 1860," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GBSH-96L2?cc=1473181&wc=7QL9-YBH%3A1589434177%2C1589428478%2C1589422394 : 24 March 2017), Pennsylvania > Somerset > Jefferson Township > image 17 of 20; from "1860 U.S. Federal Census - Population," database, Fold3.com (http://www.fold3.com : n.d.); citing NARA microfilm publication M653 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).

I thought that Fold was associated with ancestry.com?

I have not been able to research as much for the past year because I had to prepare to my house to sell, sell it, pack and move into storage, buy a house, move and try to get things in order. I am finally getting back into the groove of genealogy and I have been trying to use FamilySearch.org like I used  to. I have discovered numerous problems, especially with the search of collections. Previously, I found it easy to locate all sort of information in censuses that I could not find in any other way. That search does not work the way it used to at all. Even if you know where to look, trying to narrow the search down doesn't seem to pull up the  information you are looking for. The regular search doesn't work well either. It is much harder to narrow the search fields and find information. I had been reading a book that a relative wrote some time ago and he mentioned a census record in 1880 in a particular location in Texas. I entered the information in every way I could to find the record. I could not find the information with the FamilySearch search engine. I finally went to Ancestry.com, found the record I wanted and where it was located, then went back too FamilySearch.org, found the locale -- a county, then searched the specific area name by name and finally found the record. Using the information in the record, I attempted another search and FamilySearch did not pull up the record. Their new search engine does not work very well. I wish they could go back to the old one, or ditch this one and find one that works. I have wasted hours looking for records on FamilySearch.org where I used to could find it in minutes.

And  then when I tried to contact them to complain, I couldn't even register or log into my account to contact them. Totally weird.

I think it may be an indexing problem. I have tried to make changes to some of the indexed records, but the page to make changes never loaded.
