Thanks Wayne. It is interesting as I've seen Wolter, Waulter, Watter, and a bunch of 's variations to the name. Best one is my Grandmothers grandfather. Augustus Poirier, French Canadian Trapper, born around 1840. Every census he spelled his name, his wifes name, and childrens name differently. Thankfully we knew where he started and ended up, but no two spellings were the same (Sometimes it can be the census taker who wrote they name down.... Betty White did a great skit on SNL, still cracks me up).
