Parents of Solomon Walter of Pennsylvania, where's the evidence?

Question

Seeking the parents of walter-9048|Solomon B. Walter, (1820's-1881) of Chillisquaque, Northumberland, Pennsylvania. The only hard information I have located on his parents is that he states on the 1880 census that they were both born in Pennsylvania.

It does seem that the Walter family has deep and wide roots in that region of Northumberland and Union counties.

walter-7132|Phillip Walter (1790-1855) and his wife fought-177|Hannah Fought (1798-1832) both of Union County, Pennsylvania, are widely connected as his parents on various genealogy sites, but I haven't been able to locate any actual evidence to support this connection.

I have checked Ancestry, Geneanet, and FamilySearch, which all seem to support this connection, but without evidence that I could find. I also found this site on the Walters of Pennsylvania: https://walterfamilyhistory.com/ But it doesn't seem to cover the relevant Walters here.

Also this blog on the Walters of Pennsylvania, which does seem to discuss our Philip Walter but not a son named Solomon: https://ramblinrussells.blogspot.com/2021/02/?m=0

It seems likely to me that a source does exist, I just haven't been able to find it ☹️

P.S. If anyone would like to give me any tips on how to better find information like this in the future, it would be much appreciated! I'm usually able to find census, birth, marriage, death, and burial records, but I know there is so much more out there!

Look for probate records for Philip Walter and/or his wife Hannah. If they exist, do they name their children?

I go to familysearch.org and search their catalog for the place name I am researching; then I get a list of all source types for that place, one of which is Probate records; another is Land Records.  Many of these are digitized and available publicly (but not all are indexed, so may require viewing image by image); others requiring going to a familysearch center to view; still others require going to Salt Lake City.

Edited to add: Start with the microfilm of index to the wills; look for a will or probate records for Philip. The index will provide the volume and page # for the will/probate. Then go to the film with that volume, and work your way to the page #.
