I read the blog regarding FTM, I will not change it. Because after years and years of research and Ancestry and LDS is the only ones that give the correct information.  However; if you need to change your FTM for another program, make sure that you do a total backup of your recent search.

I'm not going to hurry. There's a whole year to get through and who knows what will happen in 12 months. And I'm not dropping my Ancestry subscription as a number of people are doing in protest. That's cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I'll bet that a lot of the people threatening to cancel their subscriptions won't actually do it, either.
I'll be gone when my subscription runs out.

GRAMPS is open source and is very good on multiple platforms. I us it and am quite happy with it.
