Ancestry to stop selling Family Tree Maker at end of 2015

Just wanted to post this information for those it might benefit:

...We’ve made the tough decision to stop selling Family Tree Maker as of December 31, 2015.

We will continue to support existing Family Tree Maker owners at least through January 1, 2017. During this time, all features of the software, including TreeSync™ will continue to work.

I agree with Sabrina. I like Family Tree Maker and hope there is some sort of replacement. I am finding it very difficult to manually edit tree on various websites. It would be nice if someone would come out with something that allows you to update on your "computer" and then sync it with various sources on-line (Ancestry, WikiTree, FamilySearch, etc.), I know that is asking a lot, but it would definitely be nice since everyone has their own place they like to share their information and it is usually not where I have my current tree housed.

Are they going to replace it with something else which will sync with trees on private computers? If they don't replace it with something else, I guess I'll be gone in January 2017. I like the ease of use of Ancestry pages and the ease of uploading and downloading info from my computer, but I don't want to just have an online tree which can't be backed up on my personal computer.
