Biography

Elmer was born 10 Aug 1903 in Carroll, Wayne, Nebraska. He was the son of Francis Lewis and Stella Eastburn.

In 1910 he was living in Township 1, Stanley, South Dakota.^[1] The household included Francis Lewis age 33, wife Stella M Lewis age 31, son Roy Edward Lewis age 11, daughter Alice A Lewis age 9, son James E Lewis age 7 and son Charles L Lewis age 2. Stella was born in Iowa, Charles was born in South Dakota, everyone else was born in Nebraska. Francis was a farmer. Stella was the mother of 4 children, all living. Francis and Stella had been married 12 years.

In 1920 he was living in Slough, Pierce, Nebraska.^[2] The household included Francis Lewis age 44, wife Stella Lewis age 52, son Elmer Lewis age 17, son Lester Lewis age 11, son Robert Lewis age 7 and son Harold Lewis age 3. All were born in Nebraska except Stella born in Iowa. Francis was a farmer.
