Biography

Ann Williams was supposedly born about 1712 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond, Virginia. There are no records of a birth for an Ann Williams, or an Ann Pope or an Ann Lanier or an Ann Lamer or Lamert in the North Farnham Parish Register for the year 1712, or years preceding or after 1712. If Ann was born in North Farnham Parish either her birth wasn't recorded or Ann's correct maiden name is not currently known. It is also possible that Ann was born elsewhere in Virginia.

Ann's name given in her marriage record is Ann Williams, and she married Roger Williams on the 5th August 1728 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond county, Virginia.[1]

Ann and Roger Williams have the births of the following children listed in The Registers of North Farnham Parish[2]: John Williams - born 9 December 1729; George Williams - born 30 January 1734; Luke Williams - born 22 November 1738; Hukey Williams (son) - born 12 December 1740; and Sarah Williams (daughter) - born 18 November 1744

Ann died the 31st December 1744 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond County, Virginia.[3]

Update 11/17/2021: Ann Williams (nee Williams) predeceased both of her parents. See WILL of her father, JOHN WILLIAMS, in sources below -- he mentioned his son-in-law was ROGER WILLIAMS. Ann's father, John Williams, and her brother, Hugh Williams, purchased property in Brunswick County, Virginia on the South Side of the Nottaway River, on 22 Oct 1753 and divided the property between them. John left this property in his will to Ann's brothers, Thomas and Luke. Luke sold his inheritance to his brother, Henry, on 20 Oct. 1753. See sources in their WikiTree profiles -- I have found many sources for Ann's brother, Henry Williams, and it appears that researchers have been confusing her brother, Henry, who lived in Brunswick, with her son, HUKEY, who also lived in Brunswick, and researchers have combined them into one person "Henry Hukey Williams." But they appear to be two separate individuals. See their WikiTree profiles for more information. I am presently researching my 4th great-grandfather, John Williams John Williams (abt.1750-abt.1807)-- the FamilySearch world family tree has him attached as the son of GEORGE WILLIAMS, son of Roger Williams and Ann Williams. According to my extensive research of our Williams Family, I have pinpointed the Brunswick County area as our place of origin -- and Ann's brothers definitely appear to have been living in that area near several families of interest. I am presently exhaustively researching all of the catalogs available at FamilySearch -- many source records are available for these families and I am actively updating their profiles with all sources I have found.

Why was Sarah Williams removed as a child?
