I am presently intensively researching all original documents for ALL WILLIAMSES living in Prince George County, VA; Brunswick County, VA; Richmond County, VA; etc. I am adding any and all records I find for the families of Roger Williams and his wife, Ann Williams (nee Williams) whose parents were "JOHN WILLIAMS and JANE," -- SEE BELOW. Parts of Brunswick County, VA were created from PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, VA, where many Williamses had been living prior to the creation of Brunswick County.
1721 - 1722: Per the catalog records of Prince George County, Virginia -- James Williams received a land survey on the SOUTH SIDE OF THE NOTTAWAY RIVER on 1 Nov 1723 in Prince George County, VA. In addition, a George Williams received a land grant on both sides of STURGEON RUN on 7 Nov 1722. Many other Williamses were living in Prince George County at that time, whom I am currently researching and believe may be related. 1746: Sale of property on 2 Oct 1746 by HUGH WILLIAMS and ELIZABETH his wife of Saint Andrews Parish in the County of Brunswick to Austin Hightower, land included in a patent granted to HUGH WILLIAMS bearing date the 20th of September 1745. My note regarding the above WILL OF JOHN WILLIAMS above -- the land that John Williams left to his sons THOMAS and LUKE on the NOTTAWAY RIVER below Rockey Run is the same land that he jointly purchased with his son HUGH WILLIAMS in Brunswick County, VA in 1747, above -- that is why Hugh was left nothing substantial in the WILL, he had already received half of the land that he and his father purchased in Brunswick several years prior to his father's death.
