My father was a US Marine for the first 16 years of my life. After he retired from the Marine Corps he worked fixing machinery on the docks in New Orleans, Louisiana. My mother was a telephone operator when I was born. She later worked only occasionally and she did everything from night auditor at a hotel to working in the cafeteria at the FBI Academy to working for H&R Block doing taxes.
My husband, Paul Alberic Dumond, retired from the Army in 1998 after 20 years of service. We had been married almost 28 years when he passed away on 10 June 2010. He adopted my two sons by a previous marriage about 2 years after we were married.
Last year I retired after 34 years of service with the Department of the Army -- five years as an enlisted soldier and 29 years as a civilian employee. I started my career in personnel, but spent most of it in Information Technology. I ended my career as the Web Security Officer for Fort Stewart, Georgia.
I currently live with my sister, also a widow, 2 dogs, and 9 cats in Hinesville, Georgia. I keep busy with travel, genealogy, and web design and development.
