Biography

Estell "Ett" Myrr McQueen was born on October 25, 1903, in Blanket, Brown County, Texas, USA^[1], to father, John Carl McQueen (1877-1968), and to mother, Margaret Emma (Brewster) McQueen (1882-1951).^[2][3]

Ett married Elmer Emmett Bramlett on December 9, 1922.^[4] Ett and Elmer had two children:

1. son, John W. Bramlett
2. daughter, Doris Estelle Bramlett

By 1928 Ett and Elmer were living in Brownwood, Texas.^[5][6]

Estell McQueen died on May 20, 1935 from a fire and explosion up on McQueen Hill (4.5 miles west of Blanket, Texas). When she built a fire under the wash pot she poured gasoline on it. A motorist on the highway saw the tragedy and stopped to help. He took her to Brownwood to the hospital, when she died. Aunt Mag (her Mother) burned her hands real bad trying to help put out the fire. Her children, Doris and John were not very old when this happened. Both were still in grade school. This was a very sad day for the family.^[7]

Ett was buried in the Moro Cemetery in Blanket, Texas.^[8]
