Biography

Arnold John McQueen was born on June 2, 1901, in Blanket, Texas,^[1] to father, John Carl McQueen (1877-1968), and to mother, Margaret Emma (Brewster) McQueen (1882-1951).^[2]

At age 18, Arnold was working as a farm laborer on his family farm in Justice Precinct 3 (Blanket area), Brown County, Texas.^[3]

Arnold married Iva Orena Bramlet on October 30, 1921, in Brown County.^[4] Together, Arnold and Iva had the following children^[5]:

1. son, Norman Wesley McQueen
2. daughter, Audrey Nellen McQueen
3. daughter, Francis Tylene McQueen
4. daughter, Melba Joyce McQueen

In 1950, Arnold and his wife, Ida, were both 48 years old, living in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas. His mother-in-law, Ida Mae Bramlet, was also living with them. At that time in his life, he worked at a gas station.^[6]

In the 31 Oct 1971, edition of the Brownwood Bulletin newspaper, there is an article describing the couple's 50th anniversary.^[7] Arnold passed away on April 9, 1978, in Brownwood, Texas.^[8] He is buried in the Eastlawn Memorial Park, in Early, Texas.^[9]
