Biography

Annie (Martin) Walker was a Missourian.

Anna was born on September 23, 1872, in Crawford County, Missouri, to William and Harriet Martin. ^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]}

Anna was enumerated for the 1880 census on June 8, 1880. She was 7 years old at this time, and was living with parents William and Harriet, and siblings David, Thomas, and Elizabeth, in Meramec Township, Crawford County, Missouri. ^[1]

On November 6, 1893, Anna was married to William King in Crawford County, Missouri, when she was 21 years old. ^{[6] [7]}

Anna was enumerated for the federal census on June 30, 1900. She was 27 years old at this time, and was living with husband William, children Ellis, Virginia, Harriet, and Effie, and brother Thomas, in Jackson Township, Maries County, Missouri. She was noted to be able to read and write. ^[2]

Anna was enumerated for the federal census on April 21 or 22, 1910. She was 37 years old at this time, and was living with children Ellis, Virginia, Harriet, Effie, Francis, and Edna, and brother-in-law John King, in Jackson Township, Maries County, Missouri. She worked on her own account on her farm. William had apparently passed away between the 1900 and 1910 censuses; see his page for more details. ^[3]

At some point between the 1910 and 1920 censuses, Anna was remarried, to Charles Shockley.

Anna was enumerated for the federal census on January 21, 1920. She was 47 years old at this time, and was living with husband Charles and daughter Edna, in Union Township, Crawford County, Missouri. ^[4]

In June 1920, Anna and Charles were divorced in Crawford County, Missouri. ^[8]

On March 28, 1921, Anna was remarried, to William Walker, when she was 48 years old. ^[6]

Anna died of gall stones on April 11, 1925, in Rolla, Missouri. She was buried on April 13, 1925, in Hibler Cemetery in Crawford County, Missouri. ^{[5] [6]}
