Biography

Virgie (King) Light was a Missourian.

Virginia was born on August 22, 1896, in Vienna, Missouri. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Virginia was enumerated for the federal census on June 30, 1900. She was 3 years old at this time, and was living with parents William and Anna, siblings Ellis, Harriet, and Effie, and uncle Thomas Martin, in Jackson Township, Maries County, Missouri. [1]

Virginia was enumerated for the federal census on April 21 or 22, 1910. She was 13 years old at this time, and was living with mother Anna, siblings Ellis, Harriet, Effie, Francis, and Edna, and uncle John King, in Jackson Township, Maries County, Missouri. She was attending school, and was noted to be able to read and write. [2]

On September 11, 1915, Virginia was married to Millard Light in Rolla, Missouri, when she was 19 years old. [8]

Virginia was enumerated for the federal census on January 5 or 6, 1920. She was 23 years old at this time, and was living with husband Millard, and children Albert, Walter, and Eugene, in Rolla, Missouri. [3]

Virginia was enumerated for the federal census on April 12, 1930. She was 33 years old at this time, and was living with husband Millard, and children Albert, Walter, Eugene, Paul, and Leonard, in Rolla, Missouri. [4]

In 1935, Virginia was inferred to be living in Rolla, Missouri. [5]

Virginia was enumerated for the federal census on April 15, 1940. She was 43 years old at this time, and was living with husband Millard, and children Paul, Leonard, and Virginia, in Rolla, Missouri. She was noted to have an 8th grade education. [5]

Virginia was enumerated for the federal census on April 29, 1950. She was 53 years old at this time, and was living with children Virginia and Paul, Paul's wife Peggy, and grandson Paul, in Rolla, Missouri. She was a homemaker. [6]

Virginia died of a cerebral hemorrhage on January 17, 1961, in Rolla, Missouri. She was buried on January 20, 1961, in Rolla Cemetery. [7]
