Happy Holidays to One and All! |

Greetings, welcome to my journey. I'm originally from St. Louis, and was born on the anniversary of D-Day in the year that President Kennedy was assassinated.
I graduated in Jan 81' and went right to work as an admin at a bank for about 4 years (I started with a study/work program through school so I was working at the bank at 16) until I decided it was time for a change and enlisted in the Air Force. I loved it and truly miss the friends and co-workers that I had the pleasure of serving for and working with. I enlisted in 84' and although I didn't retire, it was a great adventure.
Before I went into the AF, my father gave me a copy of his family tree that a genealogist had created for the family, it goes back to 1730 (England). If you look at my pictures, you will see the family of 16, my paternal great grandfather & grandmother and their 14 children who all lived to adulthood. I still remember the family reunions in a park in Illinois (yes with that large of a family, we had to rent a park every summer). Perhaps that's when I got the genealogy bug but ultimately it would have to wait since my 1st assignment was in Spain. I went to a lot of wonderful cities but my favorite place to visit was Barcelona, it was clean & beautiful.
My next assignment would take me back stateside but it was before computers and I didn't learn about the LDS centers until after I got out of the military and found a local chapter in North Carolina. I decided to throw a dart and pick a place I had never lived before. I lived in North Carolina for 20 years and there's where I started my family tree on a spreadsheet. In the mid 1990's I found rootsweb and USGenWeb but things didn't really come together until I found Ancestry where I could communicate with cousins and ensure my data was correct.
I've only been on WikiTree for a few months and it has been great getting to know new friends and family.
I tend to like being involved in a lot of projects and help out where I can and where I'm needed.
My favorite childhood story is that I met Shirley Temple for my 5th birthday and she autographed picture for me.
Happy Hunting everyone!!!

Where was your friend originally from? After the initial 14 children raised their children, they scattered throughout the US but most were still found in Illinois.
Thank you for the info Mary Lou, I really appreciate it and will check it out.
Best regards, Kimberly
You left a draft on Henry Albert George Pomery (1910-1978), could you check it and save or delete it please. Thankyou for adding the photo.

Thanks for having a Big Heart and adopting Orphan Profiles. You will want to read this After adopting orphans FAQ to understand what to do next and it explains the special attention those profiles need.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
David
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!
It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
