Biography

Vincenza Cascio is born and baptized in Corleone on 11 January 1864 in Corleone, the daughter of Leoluca Cascio and Salvatrice Ligotino. Her godparents are Maestro Bernardo Colletti and Liboria Moscato.^[1]

Salvatrice is Leoluca's second wife. In addition to their nine children---three who die in early childhood, and one as a teenager---there are five children from Leoluca's first marriage, with Giovanna Giuffrida. Of Leoluca and Giovanna's children, one dies as a child and the other four, three boys and a girl, survive to marry. Of Salvatrice's full siblings, four die before adulthood, and the surviving four, another three boys and a girl, are known to marry.

Salvatrice's father, Leoluca, dies on 17 April 1872 at age 63. Vincenza is nine years old, the youngest surviving child.

Vincenza does not marry.

Vincenza dies at age 38 (b. 1864) on 10 May 1902.^[2] Her mother's date of death is not known but she has died by the time Vincenza dies.
